YEREVAN. – It is impossible to imagine Armenia’s development without reforms, and without the track-record of and assistance by Europe.

President Serzh Sargsyan noted the aforementioned at Monday’s joint briefing—in capital city Yerevan—with president Donald Tusk of the European Council.

“If Azerbaijan has oil and [natural] gas, be my guest, let the European Union cooperate with that country in that domain,” stressed Sargsyan. “But we [i.e. Armenia] want for reforms to happen in our country, [and] which will strengthen the rule of law and human rights [in Armenia].”

The President added that despite joining the Eurasian Economic Union because of implementing reforms, Armenia continues to cooperate closely with the EU, too.
