YEREVAN. – The right to life and the grounds for deprivation of this right are vague in the draft constitutional reform of Armenia, said constitution specialist Vardan Ayvazyan, at a press conference on Monday.

In Ayvazyan’s words, by and large, human rights are specified with appropriate and well-grounded restrictions so they may later close the doors before unfounded restrictions.

As per the expert, there are such grounds, and they need to be clearly outlined.

“It would have been desirable that these grounds were presented in a comprehensive manner,” stressed Vardan Ayvazyan.

Chapters 1 through 7 of the new draft Constitution of Armenia were made public on July 15. Accordingly, the country will make a transition to a parliamentary system of governance.
