YEREVAN. - Following a suspension of over two month, the trial on shooting near Yerevan’s Vernissage Fair has resumed. The hearing is scheduled on August 3.
Yerem Sargsyam, the attorney of Gor Arakelyan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the results of forensic-psychiatric and forensic-psychological expert examinations have been received, but haven’t yet been submitted to the parties.
If Gor Arakelyan is turned out to have been in the heat of passion at the moment of the incident, this will be considered as a mitigating circumstance.
The incident near Yerevan’s Vernissage Fair took place on 17 May 2014. Gor Arakelyan, Nerses Melkonyan and Valery Hovhannisyan began to quarrel over a parking space. As a result, Arakelyan shot several times from his gun, injuring the offenders and three more totally innocent passers-by.
