YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Wednesday received Italian Ambassador Giovanni Ricciulli.

Abrahamyan expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation between the two countries, and underscored the need for their further deepening and strengthening.

The PM noted that trade between Armenia and Italy has doubled in the first half of the current year, as compared to the year past. The Premier also highlighted the intensification of contacts between the two business circles, and stressed that the Government of Armenia stands ready to discuss each and every mutually beneficial proposal.

Ambassador Ricciulli, for his part, emphasized that Italy attaches great importance to the development and expansion of cooperation with Armenia. The diplomat added that Italian businessmen have a great interest in Armenia’s market. At the same time, he highlighted that Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union creates new opportunities for Italian investors, too.

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors conferred on several other matters of mutual interest.
