YEREVAN. - Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan today received the Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Sargsyan thanked Ambassador Hristea for the work implemented during the period of his mission, as well as establishing efficient cooperation with Armenian government, parliamentary forces and civil society. He expressed hope that the next EU ambassador to Armenia will get down to this important mission with the same vigor, contributing to the further deepening of Armenia-EU ties.
Armenia’s President wished success and new achievements to Hristea in his further activity.
He also noted with satisfaction that during the four years of Hristea’s service, Armenia’s cooperation with the EU and European institutions was very active and fruitful, contributing to the expansion and active cooperation of Armenia with the EU in the most diverse areas.
“I consider that we have worked sincerely, honestly and openly, being able to get the most out of our cooperation during this period, passing a long journey and gathering significant experience for further cooperation,” Sargsyan said, stressing that Armenia is committed to continuing the reforms launched through EU cooperation.
Ambassador Traian Hristea thanked Armenia’s President for the appreciation of his work and warm words, noting that he considers them as words of appreciation with regard to the mutual ties between the EU and Armenia.
Hristea also conditioned the efficient cooperation and the active dialogue established at all levels possible by the common values of Armenia and EU. He reconfirmed EU’s commitment to develop close cooperation and dialogue with Armenia.
By the end of the meeting, Hristea assured that wherever he goes, Armenia will always remain in his heart.
