YEREVAN. – Most residents of Armenia head to Georgia to spend their summer vacation, said travel agent Marina Kprelyan, at a press conference on Thursday.

“The most popular destination in outgoing tourism is Georgia, since it ensures a very affordable rest, [and] doesn’t require an air flight,” she said. “[But] Greece and Spain are also popular destinations [for Armenia’s residents].”

Kprelyan noted that tourists primarily from European countries—Germany, Austria, England, France, Italy, Spain—as well as Israel, Japan, and the United States come to Armenia to spend their leisure.

The expert also stated that the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations and the ongoing 6th Pan-Armenian Games were of great importance in terms of making Armenia known to the world.

“[But] it can be said that Armenia is not advertised enough today,” added Marina Kprelyan.
