YEREVAN. - The situation on the border with Azerbaijan is under control: the Armenian side is giving harsh response to the shootings of snipers, Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan today told Armenian News – NEWS.am.
“We are only responding to the shootings aimed at precise objects. We’re not responding to random shootings; we’re ensuring our security then,” the Minister said.
According to Ohanyan, the intensity of large-scale mortars has recently increased. “The tension is fluctuating all the time. Shootings have become less intensive over the last two days,” the Minister said.
Following the European Games in Baku, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border has rather exacerbated. The adversary is periodically violating the ceasefire.
