YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan is conducting a policy of having Nagorno-Karabakh returned, and taking steps aimed at the economic destruction of Armenia.
Ambassador Ara Papyan, who is a political scientist and Director of the Modus Vivendi Center, noted the abovementioned at Monday’s discussion entitled “Prospects for Armenian-Iranian Strategic Partnership.”
Papyan has no hope that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be resolved through negotiations.
“The conflict around Nagorno-Karabakh is just a pretext for Azerbaijan,” noted the analyst. “They are resolving a much larger matter, which is the objective of not solely Azerbaijan, but Turkey; they are isolating Armenia, which stands in their way like a wedge.”
