YEREVAN. - Events dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the prominent Armenian book publisher Voskan Yerevantsi will take place in Armenia. The event program was approved at the government session today.

The program will be implemented in cooperation with the “Friends of Matenadaran” Charity Foundation. It is planned to hold a scientific conference, as well as an exhibition of books preserved both in Yerevan’s Matenadaran Museum-Institute of Ancient Manuscripts and in a number of libraries abroad.

Voskan Yerevantsi (1614 – 1674) was a publisher of hundreds of Armenian books. By his work during his entire life, Yerevantsi made an invaluable contribution to the preservation of the Armenian identity and self-consciousness in the years and decades of the absence of statehood.
