YEREVAN. – The two persons, who sustained injuries as a result of Monday’s elevator accident in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, are in critical condition.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned the abovementioned from Yerevan’s Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center, where the two injured were transferred.

A hospital representative also informed that the patients, 46-year-old Sargis and 60-year-old Paruyr, are undergoing medical examination.

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations had received a call on Monday at 11:16am. Accordingly, the cables of a makeshift outdoor freight elevator had snapped while carrying out construction work at a plot of land in Yerevan, and as a result, the elevator had fallen about 60 meters into a gorge.The rescuers, who were dispatched to the scene, had brought out two injured from the scene of the incident and transferred them to hospital.
