YEREVAN. – Armenia will manage to modernize and extend operations of the NPP unit till 2026 thanks to Russia-provided loan, Russian military expert Vladimir Yevseyev said.
Russia has provided a loan of $300 million for modernization of the energy unit, he recalled.
“Russia, as an ally, was there to help Armenia and provided the loan. Armenia, for sure, will have cheap electricity produced by NPP till 2026,” Yevseyev said during a space bridge on Armenia-Russia relations.
The expert noted that this loan is very important especially in the context of Electric Yerevan protests that took place in June.
