Armenia's Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan took part in the meetings of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union that was held in Grodno, Belarus.

The delegation comprised Vice Prime Minister, Minister for International Economic Integration and Reform Vache Gabrielyan, Deputy Minister Suren Karayan and Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan.

The meeting of the heads of Government of the member states was followed by an enlarged session.

The Heads of Government discussed a wide range of issues of integration - in particular, the issues of industrial cooperation in the EEU, macroeconomic and financial stability, development of a single market services, development of relations with foreign countries and international organizations.

In his speech, Armenian PM noted that the Armenian side supports adoption of the documents which include different industry cooperation. He stressed the importance of  deepening industrial cooperation in the Eurasian Union. Emphasizing the rich experience and specialization of Armenia in this context, PM noted Armenia's readiness to become a platform for the Eurasian engineering center. He also emphasized the importance of the exchange of experience in the implementation of macroeconomic and fiscal policy.

With regard to the importance of cooperation with the European Union, Mr. Abrahamyan noted that, given the experience of talks with the EU on trade and economic affairs, Armenia is preparing to support Eurasian economic commission in formation of a dialogue with the EU which will contribute to mutually beneficial integration processes.

It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Council in Armenia.

At the end of the meeting, the heads of governments signed more than a dozen papers on the mutual cooperation in the field of intellectual property, introduction of marking system, creation of the single market of services and others.
