YEREVAN. - Director and 51% shareholder of Air Armenia Arsen Avetisyan, who was beaten in Armenia’s Football Academy a month ago, hasn’t yet returned to work, Avetisyan’s wife Izabella Melkonyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to her, her husband hasn’t yet fully recovered and rarely goes to work.

“He also went abroad for several days; an accident had occurred. Now he’s back,” Melkonyan said.

Arsen Avetisyan was taken to hospital with a nose fraction and a shoulder blade injury. He was discharged from hospital on August 20.

Arsen Avetisyan’s wife had earlier said that, on August 15, President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA), Ruben Hayrapetyan, had invited her husband to a meeting at the FFA academy in capital city Yerevan. During the talk, however, Hayrapetyan’s bodyguards had beaten Avetisyan. Subsequently, he was taken to hospital. 

On August 20, Arsen Avetisyan said that he’s ready to reconcile with FFA President, Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office issued a statement on August 20, according to which no criminal case would be launched into the incident.
