Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo Tigran Gevorgyan visited a nursing home in Aleppo on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Armenia's independence. Accompanied by a head of nursing homes and representatives of the Armenian community, Gevorgyan met with who have found refuge there and inquired about their needs.

Consul General congratulated those present on the Independence Day and assured that the problems of the Armenians of Syria, in particular the elderly and children, are always in the focus of Armenian authorities. Tigran Gevorgyan thanked the staff of the nursing home for their dedicated work.

The same day, the Consul General visited the National Orphanage. He congratulated the children on beginning of a new academic year and wished them further success in their studies. The diplomat assured that the cooperation between the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo and orphanage will continue. During the meeting, Consul General and the director of the orphanage discussed the possibility of organizing children's recreation in Armenia during the school holidays.

During his visit to the nursing home and orphanage Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo Tigran Gevorgyan handed over donations on behalf of the Armenian philanthropist Vardan Sermakesh.
