YEREVAN. - Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan along with his wife Rita Sargsyan today visited Megerian Carpet Company, which produces hand-made carpets of different designs and denseness. The preservation, restoration and reproduction of Armenian cultural values disseminated all over the world is considered as one of the key objectives of the company.

In Hovhannes and Naomi Megerian Museum, the president and his wife familiarized themselves with the ancient carpets of different regions of modern Armenia, Nagorno Karabvakh and Western Armenia. New hand-made carpets were also shown to them in Megerian Carpet exhibition halls.  

The company works in different countries of the world: Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Romania and China. “Megerian Carpet” started operating in Armenia in 2000. The company re-launched its former 20 manufacturing branches in different regions of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the Megerian Carpet representatives, re-launching of two more branches in Armenia is schedules by the end of the year, which will enable increasing both the production volumes and the number of employees.
