YEREVAN. – The “National Union of Sinjar Yezidis” NGO of the Republic of Armenia (RA) has issued a statement regarding Azerbaijan’s recent shelling at the border villages of Armenia’s Tavush Province, and during which three civilians were killed.

“Azerbaijan’s actions are like the modus operandi of the Islamic State terrorist group. We, Yezidis living in Armenia, condemn Azerbaijan’s terrorist acts, and call on the international community to tighten Azerbaijan’s reins.

“Each and every citizen of Armenia, including the national minorities living freely here, stands ready to defend the borders of our homeland until the last drop of [our] blood.

“We call on the RA Ministry of Defense to set up volunteer groups if needed, and to also draft the representatives of our organization, as soldiers of the Armenian Army,” the statement specifically reads.
