YEREVAN. – Sixth meeting of the Armenian State Commission on Coordination of the events dedicated to the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide kicked off Saturday at the Office of the President of Armenia.

President Serzh Sargsyan, who is also chairman of this state commission, is chairing the event.

At the beginning, Presidential Chief of Staff Vigen Sargsyan, who is also coordinator of the aforesaid commission, presented an interim report on the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations.

Subsequently, and by the presidential decrees, several philanthropists and businessmen from Armenia and the Armenian diaspora were presented high state awards and given certificates of appreciation for their active participation in organizing and holding the respective remembrance events. 

President Serzh Sargsyan personally handed these awards, congratulated their recipients, and wished them success.
