The Japanese yakuza (members of transnational organized crime syndicates originating in Japan) Yamaguchi-gumi in Kobe has canceled this year’s children’s festivity to be celebrated on Halloween.

The event organizers are concerned that, after the recent split in this organized crime syndicate, there may be clashes between different clans, TASS news agency of Russia reported citing the local media.

The respective Yamaguchi-gumi statement, however, did not mention the reasons for this cancelation.

In September, a split had occurred within this mob, and the group that broke away from the main syndicate has now formed a separate clan.

The police fear that bloody clashes could start between these two clans.
