California resident Nshan Sogomonyan has been sentenced to a day in jail and $400 fine for the manslaughter of the Russian tourist of Armenian desceny Harut Emmanuel Shabazyan at Pyramid Lake in 2012.

In July 2012, Sogomonyan hit 16-year-old Shabazyan who was riding his jet ski. The latter died later from injuries in a local hospital.  

According to the court documents, the 7-meter boat managed by 29-year-old Sogomnyan (he is 31 today) crashed into the Russian teenager’s jet ski, inflicting fatal injuries on him, Slavicsac reports. 

It took three years for the law enforcement authorities of Santa Clarita to prove the guilt of Sogomonyan in the incident. The court gave him a relatively lenient punishment – a day in Los-Angeles County jail and $400 fine, which Sogomonyan asked to substitute with doing community service.
