The residents of Portugal have witnessed an unusual atmospheric phenomenon in the sky.

A blogger photographed an accumulation of clouds that looked like either a meteorite or a hand covered with fire.

The occurrence was named the “hand of God,” in the Internet, according to Rosbalt news agency of Russia.

Meteorologists, however, stated that these were lenticular clouds—stationary lens-shaped clouds that form normally in perpendicular alignment to the wind direction—, and the beam of the rising sun had dispersed into the clouds creating a spectacular coloring.
