Clashes on the ground of inter-ethnic conflict took place in Buril village of Kazakhstan’s Jambyl province, NewTimes.kz reports.
The disturbances began after the body of a Kazakh boy with stab wounds was found in one of the village houses. A local resident of Turkish descent was detained on suspicion of the murder. On Tuesday, the village residents came to the house of the suspect demanding his family to leave the village.
Police forces were brought to the village. The village elders of Kazakh and Turkish communities of Buril conducted talks and urged the residents to stay calm. Representatives of law enforcement authorities and local executive authorities arrived for the meeting with the population. They asked the people gathered to go home.
The family of the suspect has been relocated to another residential area.
