German hen lays biggest egg in the world

In Lower Saxony (Germany) a hen laid "the biggest egg in the world", Gazeta reported quoting The Local. The owners of the hen are Ingrid and Günther Meyne. They are breeding chickens as a hobby.

About two weeks ago a couple found an egg weighing 184 grams. This week Ingrid and Günther Meyne were amazed to discover an even bigger egg - this one weighing 209 grams.

The Natural History Museum of Braunschweig located nearby now wants to put the egg on display.

While this egg may not break the Guinness World Record egg that was found in the US in 1956, weighing 454 grams.
