Even though the usefulness of breakfast seems apparent, there is no evidence of its real benefits for those who want to lose weight.
Dr. James Betts, a senior lecturer in nutrition at the University of Bath,, England, has reached such a conclusion.
He analyzed the studies, whose makers claim that breakfast is useful. Betts, however, found out that solely the volunteers’ statements were analyzed, whereas no specific respective tests were conducted.
So, he conducted his own little experiment among 70 people to find out whether having regular breakfast has any impact on overweight people losing weight. Later, he further studied 23 cases.
But the nutritionist found out that the test subjects, who started to have regular breakfast, did not lose weight over the course of time.
As a result, the expert concluded that having regular breakfast does not help lose excess weight, and its absence does not cause gaining of weight.
