One policeman was killed and one injured in the explosion near the railway station in Songkhla province, Thailand, the police reported.

According to the police, the explosive device was hidden in a motorcycle parked in front of the railway station of Chana and was activated remotely when the patrol car was near. The investigators believe that the responsibility for the attack falls on the separatists acting in the region, TASS reported.

Thai provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat are also known as the three Southern Border Provinces. The armed conflict here has lasted for 11 years. The separatists advocating secession from Bangkok and the creation of a Muslim sultanate, regularly arrange attacks on members of the police, military and teachers, including their state ideology guides. During this time, more than 6.5 thousand people became victims of bombings and shootings.  The territory of the neighboring province Songkhla is considered to be a safer place. However, the separatist attacks were previously recorded here.
