Azerbaijan unleashed an attack in Nagorno-Karabakh against the Armenians, and I am in solidarity with Armenians.
Ľuboš Blaha, newly elected Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the National Council (parliament) of Slovakia, issued the aforesaid statement on his Facebook account.
“One month ago, I hurried to the Council of Europe to vote against the Azerbaijani-Turkish anti-Armenian bellicose resolution,” the statement also reads, in particular. “This resolution failed, also thanks to the Slovak delegation.
“At the time, the Armenian friends were informing me what pressure the Azerbaijanis and the Turks were exerting against the Armenians and the Russians. It seemed that they were wrong [to say] that bellicose diplomacy will ultimately end in military actions.
“I believe that the conflict will be settled by the OSCE [i.e. the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe] (…). The important thing is that peace be established.”
