YEREVAN. – Armenia’s active diplomacy and role in the international arena is noticeable and appreciable.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi of China on Friday noted the aforesaid at his talk, in capital city Beijing, with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Wang Yi stressed that Armenian-Chinese friendship relations have progressively developed in recent years.
At the talk, they discussed the course of implementation of the agreements, which were reached during the Armenian President’s state visit to China last year.
The interlocutors also reflected on the matters that are on the bilateral agenda.
In addition, Nalbandian and Wang exchanged views on the avenues for expanding trade and economic relations.
Furthermore, the Armenian and Chinese FMs conferred on cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). In this context, Wang Yi welcomed the forthcoming signing—during Nalbandian’s visit—of the memorandum whereby Armenia will assume the status of “dialogue partner” of the SCO.
They underscored the need for closer cooperation within international organizations, and periodic consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Armenia and China.
Also, Edward Nalbandian thanked for China’s continued assistance toward the development of Armenia.
