The government of Nagorno-Karabakh must be represented during the talks in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.

PACE’s French MP François Rochebloine , who is also the member of  the European Peoples’ Party (EPP), stated the aforementioned Tuesday in the framework of the second spring working meeting of PACE.

In his words, on behalf of the international community, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs bear significant responsibility for the resumption of diplomatic talks for the establishment of long-term peace. “But this can happen only if the talks in the framework of the Minsk Group are open to all the parties to the conflict, including the Nagorno-Karabakh government. Someone indeed striving for peace cannot renounce the legitimacy of this country, which represents the Karabakh people,” the French MP stressed.

According to Rochebloine, it’s time for the Azerbaijani leaders to fulfill the commitments undertaken. “They need to understand that they will lose everything if they continue turning down the talks. We should be persistent in establishing peace,” he added.
