French Parliament MP Valérie Boyer took part in the protest of Saint-Just Municipality in commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. On her Twitter page, she thanked the Chairman of Bouches-du-Rhône Department Council  Martine Vassal for holding the event. Boyer also posted an excerpt from a local newspaper about the event. The article reads:

“Time wears off everything but for pain. An enormous banner was spread out on Saint-Just Municipality Council frontispiece to make the Marseille citizens turn around to the past in order to never again suffer its horrors.

Much was done to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the [Armenian] Genocide, but everything doesn’t finish here. This demonstrations should be continued year after years so that something similar doesn’t recur,” said Chairman of Bouches-du-Rhône Department Council  Martine Vassal, who is planning to visit Armenia in June.

We will continue our struggle unless the truth is established and justice is served, and unless Turkey recognizes its crimes,” said Chairman of Co-ordination Council of Armenian organisations of France (CCAF), Pascal Shamasian.
