Marta Cygan, a director in the EU Commission's migration and home affairs unit said that Ankara had fulfilled smaller part of those requirements which are necessary for cancellation of a visa regime between Turkey and the EU, Gazeta reported quoting Reuters.

She told the European Parliament that Ankara now satisfied 35 of the 72 which are necessary for the liberalization of the visa issue.

"The Turkish authorities have definitely been accelerating the implementation of administrative and legal reforms allowing them to fulfill the requirements", Cygan added.
