The Azerbaijani authorities have sent a letter of notice to Marlène Mourier, Mayor of Bourg-lès-Valence a commune of France, who has signed a charter of friendship with Shushi town of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

Azerbaijan demands that this French commune call off relations with Shushi.

But Mayor Mourier supports the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities’ will to self-determination, and she is not giving in to threats, reported French Armenian Nouvelles d’Arménie monthly magazine.

The said charter of friendship will continue to be in force.
