The death toll in Haiti due to Matthew storm has exceeded 100, reports the Reuters, referring to the local authorities. According to the Interior Ministry there are about 136 victims. The number of victims may increase, as it hasn’t been unable to set contacts with a number of affected regions so far. According to authorities, only in Roche a Bateau the storm killed 50 people. 

The Acting President of Haiti Jocelerme Privert announced that the situation in the country's southern cities is catastrophic. Jeremie, Les Cayes, Port-Salut , and other cities are in need of an urgent aid, reports the BBC. 

Matthew storm in the last 10 years is the strongest in the region. It is accompanied by heavy rains and strong winds. It caused floods and landslides in Haiti. The authorities managed to evacuate 21 thousand people. Currently, they are trying to provide them with food and drinking water.
