Powerful Hurricane Matthew barreled north along the East Coast early Saturday and is expected to flood some of the South’s most historic cities, NY Daily reported.

Matthew approached the coasts of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina in the predawn hours, having killed at least four people in Florida and left more than 1 million homes and businesses without electricity.

At the moment, the power of the hurricane has dropped from the third to the second level.
