Ambassador Herbert Salber, European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, makes regular visits to Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Ambassador Malena Mard, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, stated the above-said, reported APA news agency of the country.

In her words, within his mandate, the special representative supports peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Contacts between the EU and the parties to this conflict are very important, Mard also noted.

She added that the EU strongly supports a peaceful solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the respective mediation mission by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group.
