A plane, with Minister of Interior Juan Fernando Cristo on board, made an emergency landing in the Colombian capital city of Bogotá, reported El Colombiano newspaper.

According to preliminary data, the aircraft skidded off the runway.

The minister’s deputy on political affairs, personal secretary, and a group of journalists also were on board. 

They all came out of the plane from its emergency exit.

The incident occurred due to fact that the aircraft’s landing gear had failed to open.
