If the President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev does not get reelected, next year he might hold position of Vice President in European Commission, replacing Kristalina Georgieva, reports the Novinite.

On December 31, the European Commission vice-president Kristalina Georgieva left her post for the position of the Executive Director in the World Bank. Instead, under Article 246 of the EU Treaty Georgieva’s position must be held by a citizen of Bulgaria.  The presidential elections in Bulgaria will take place on November 6.
