YEREVAN. – Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Paolo Gentiloni, are satisfied with the development of bilateral relations.

At Tuesday’s news conference, they summed up the results of the visit by the Italian minister, who is in capital city Yerevan within the framework of a regional trip.

In Nalbandian’s words, the parties discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international matters, and reflected on the avenues for expanding the Armenia-Italy legal framework. He also expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation in defense sector. The Armenian FM added that they also conferred on Armenia-European Union negotiations, and the ways for the creation of a new legal basis for collaboration.

Gentiloni, in turn, reflected on making economic cooperation grow deeper. In his words, Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union is of additional interest to Italy.

“We are interested in building new economic relations,” added the Italian FM.
