There have taken place first clashes in South Korea with law enforcements agents during anti-government demonstrations, reports Ryonhap. According to available information, the clashes between protesters and the police took place not far from the presidential palace in Seoul. It is reported, that 7 people were hospitalized; other 20 people received first aid on the spot.
The organizers of the demonstration announce that up to 1 million people participated in the protest, whereas according to the estimates of the police there were only 260 people. The mass protest united 3 opposition parties of the South Korea and more than 1.5 thousand NGO members.
The political scandal around the South Korean president arose, after she apologized for leakage of presidential speeches to Choi Soon-sil, before announcing them in public. The latest does not occupy any key position in the South Korean government, but is believed to be a daughter of the President’s teacher Choi Tae-min and the former wife of the former secretary. She was arrested upon her return to Seoul.
