The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has announced that the election of Donald Trump as the US president will greatly improve US-Russian relations, reports the BELTA.

"I heard how people in Russia said, that the victory of Trump would be good for Russia, whereas the victory of Clinton would be bad. I can already say that Trump is not a gift," Lukashenko said.

He explained, that if Hillary Clinton had won the elections, the general direction of the US policy towards Russian would have been more understandable. "That is why we should not hurry to say that it [Trump’s victory] is a gift. Trump loves the US and wants the US be more powerful, than it is now," he said.
