YEREVAN. – Armenia does not consider the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as a closed market, but rather as an economy that is oriented towards foreign markets.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investment of Armenia, Hovhannes Azizyan, stated the aforesaid at Saturday’s joint meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia and of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Federation Council of Russia, in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

Up to December 30 consumer loans without collateral up to AMD 2,000,000 will be granted only with annual interest rate of 19-20%

In the Armenian official’s words, this consideration assumes competition beyond the borders of the EAEU member countries—which are Armenia Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan—, and not within the Union.

Azizyan noted that the creation of a single EAEU transport system will play an important role, and enable the Union countries to become intermediaries for European countries.
