The policy of official Washington towards Armenia is unlikely to change after the appointment of Exxon Mobile CEO Rex Tillerson to the post of the U.S. Secretary of State.

Regional Director of the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA), Arpi Vartanian, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In her words, unless President-elect Donald Trump assumes the presidency and starts conducting policy, it is hard to predict what position U.S. will form in regard to particular countries and issues.  

The policy conducted by Washington in regard to Armenia over the recent 25 years is unlikely to undergo significant changes, Vartanian noted.

She also added that the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be in the center of the U.S. leadership’s attention, considering the U.S. co-chairmanship in the OSCE Minsk Group.
