Thailand's Legislative Assembly has approved amendments, which tightens the law on Computer Crime, reports Associated Press.

These changes allow the authorities without a court order to "catch" private messages and block website that are recognized as "harmful" to national security or public morality.

The law was adopted in 2007 to complete legislative gaps in the field. However, it has been mainly used against the opposition.

300 thousand people signed a petition against the adoption of the new amendments in Change.org. Some critics say, that changes provide a background of various interpretations. The bill will come into force, after it is signed by the king Maha Vajiralongkorn.
