YEREVAN. – We have no enmity against any people, said Vahram Baghdasaryan, head of the National Assembly faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), at Friday’s parliamentary briefings.

He stated this when asked about his views on the opposition Armenian National Congress Party’s proposal of achieving peace in the Karabakh conflict by way of mutual concessions.

In Baghdasaryan’s words, however, you first need to ensure security, and peace is derived from this.

According to the MP, the security of Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is among the key objectives of the RPA.

“We are against the policy of the Azerbaijani authorities,” noted Vahram Baghdasaryan. “And we are not against restoring relations with these people [i.e. the Azerbaijanis], after the final self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh.”
