YEREVAN. – If the Armenian side acts in favor of peace in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), Azerbaijan will remain alone before Russia, France, and the US.

Aram Manukyan, secretary of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction at the National Assembly of Armenia, stated the aforementioned at Friday’s parliamentary briefings.

In his conviction, when looking at the situation superficially, we will see that the authorities in Armenia and in Azerbaijan have a completely different position regarding the Karabakh conflict. But in practice, as per Manukyan, they and the others are not honest with their peoples, and the international mediators see that neither side wants peace.

“If Armenia acts in favor of peace, it will be on one side, together with France, Russia and the US, whereas Azerbaijan—on the other side, alone,” noted the ANC MP. “Now, the Armenian people have an opportunity to consolidate their triumph. We [just] need to be realistic and to stand on the ground with two feet.”
