YEREVAN. - The visa regime between Armenia and EU may be facilitated in the long term.

Polish Ambassador to Armenia, Jerzy Nowakowski, said the aforementioned at the meeting with journalists on Monday.

In his words, this process may turn to be longer than that for associated countries but everything is possible over time. This requires further talks and solution of the already existing tasks. Nevertheless, according to the diplomat, there are possibilities for such talks. ''My colleague heading the EU Commission mission can comment on this in more detail. But overall I can definitely note that the possibility to improve the visa regime with the EU for Armenia is not close,'' the Polish diplomat said.  

In January 2013, Armenia unilaterally cancelled visas for the citizens of EU and Schengen countries. Since 1 January 2014, the agreement with EU on visa regime facilitation (but not waiver) with Armenia took effect.
