Prime Minister of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR), Arayik Haroutyunyan, on Tuesday attended an event which HALO Trust organization organized on the occasion of International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.

Ash Boddy, HALO Trust Programme manager for Artsakh, underscored the NKR authorities’ assistance in ensuring the effectiveness of demining work in the republic. He added that if sufficient funds are raised, all minefields in Karabakh will be cleared by the year 2020.

In his remarks, Haroutyunyan, for his part, noted, in particular: “We [the Karabakh authorities] appreciate your [HALO Trust] work, and are always ready to assist, as much as possible, in the humanitarian work of the organization.”
