Hamburg police inform that 288 people were detained, half of them already arrested, since the beginning of protests against the G20 summit in this German town, according to BBC.

Clashes of protesters with police continued on Saturday night. Only by Sunday morning Hamburg police wrote on their Twitter that the situation in the streets has calmed down.

The police previously asked people to upload photos and videos of protests, so that they can identify offenders.

In a press release, the police said the protesters were armed with Molotov cocktails, and they were also throwing stones and injured a few police officers with slingshots.

According to latest police data, 285 people were injured in the clashes.

Police say 12 thousand people took part in these protest demonstrations against the summit.
