YEREVAN. – Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian on Thursday met with his Finnish colleague Timo Soini, within the framework of the 24th meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council, in Vienna.
First, Nalbandian congratulated his associate on the centennial of the independence of Finland, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Subsequently, the two FMs noted that bilateral relations have continuously deepened over the course of 25 years of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Finland.
The interlocutors discussed the avenues for intensifying political discourse, enhancing trade and economic ties, and promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries. Also, they underscored the strengthening of interparliamentary ties, expansion of legal framework, and deepening of cooperation within international organizations.
In addition, the two FMs reflected on Armenia-European Union (EU) cooperation in the context of the recent signing of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU.
Separately, Edward Nalbandian briefed his interlocutor on the joint efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries (Russia, US, and France) to achieve solely a pacific resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
