The Israel Defense Forces’ official statement reads that the country on Saturday attacked four targets belonging to Hamas in retaliation for the rocket strikes, reported TASS Russian News Agency.
The Israeli military said it hit two weapon production workshops, an armory warehouse, and a military base in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian radicals on Friday fired at least three rockets from the Gaza Strip toward Israel. One of them exploded causing damage in the southern Israeli town of Sderot, whereas another was destroyed by the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system.
Palestinian rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip toward Israel have become more frequent ever since US President Donald Trump on Wednesday stated that he recognizes Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel, and said the US Department of State has been ordered to start transferring the US embassy in Israel, from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
But this decision brought about worldwide reaction.
