According to a statement by the Permanent Representation of Israel to the United Nations (UN), Ambassador Danny Danon, Permanent Representative of Israel to the UN, has condemned the draft resolution submitted to the UN Security Council calling on it to rescind the change in Jerusalem’s current status, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.    

“No vote or discussion will change the clear facts: Jerusalem is and has always been the capital of Israel,” reads the aforesaid statement.

A diplomatic source at the UN says this draft resolution developed by Palestine was submitted to the UN Security Council by Egypt.

On December 6, US President Donald Trump stated that he recognizes Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel, and said the US Department of State has been ordered to start transferring the US embassy in Israel, from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

But this decision has brought about worldwide reaction.
