The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (Auto Alliance) plans to inform the US administration that President Donald Trump’s threats to impose customs duties on the import of European cars to the US would cost $45 billion, annually, on American consumers.

This week the Auto Alliance will send a respective letter to the US Department of Commerce.

It notes that in addition to an increase in car prices, consumers will also face higher expenses on automotive parts.
